Androids, Bulldogs still spotless
THE 1985 Androids-Aceite de Manzanilla and the 1994 Bulldogs kept their unblemished records intact as they emerged from the weekend with impressive victories in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Summer League over at the USC North Campus Gym.
The Androids remained in a class of their own in Division 1 as they clobbered the 1984 Knights, 79-56, behind their awesome-twosome of former pro Lou Regidor, who had 30 points, and Bing Pua, with his 19.
The win was the Android’s third in a row to keep them ahead of the 1986 Mighty Geeks, who got their second win in as many games with a 68-51 win over Bai 91.
The Geeks got an impressive performance from Arturo Mata, who buoyed the squad with his 33 points.
The 1993 Dragons also kept in step with the leaders with a 69-48 win over the 1987 Bros.
The 1990 Titans-Modern Solutions also escaped with a 63-60 win over the Bai 91 to even their mark at 1-1 (win-loss).
In Division 2, the Bulldogs got their third win in a row with an exciting 62-57 win over Sipat 1998.
