Ayala-led telecommunications firm Globe Telecom, Inc. has partnered with Disney to give its customers access to video-on-demand and interactive content across multiple devices.

Globe officials digitally signed a partnership agreement with The Walt Disney Co. Southeast Asia last week. The event held in Manila, was live streamed in events happening simultaneously in Cebu and Davao.

“We are all very, very excited about this new landmark partnership,” said Globe president and chief executive officer Ernest L. Cu.

Robert Gilby, managing director of Disney in Southeast Asia, said they partnered with Globe to reach more Filipinos.

“When I think of the Philippines and Filipinos, I think of heart and family values. At Disney, we share those family values too – which is why we are delighted to form such a great partnership with Globe,” he said.

With the partnership, Globe customers may access movies and games from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars as well as short-form video from Maker Studios.

Among the applications powered by Globe are:

Disney Movies On Demand (DMOD), an on-demand subscription service for selected titles such as the Toy Story franchise, and Finding Nemo, The Princess Diaries, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas, and Cinderella; Disney On Demand (DOD), an on-demand subscription service for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Phineas & Ferb and other selected TV shows; Maker On Demand, an on-demand subscription service for short-form videos from Maker Studios’ portfolio of content across gaming, comedy, music, sports, fashion, and family;
Watch Disney Channel entertainment apps that provide access to Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD; and Disney Interactive, which offers mobile and web-based games, apps and e-books based on Disney stories.

The partnership with Disney is the latest entered into by Globe. Other partnerships are with Facebook, Viber, Google, NBA, Grab Taxi, Lazada.com, and What’s App.
