BATCH 1988-Dewfoam pounced on the anemic third quarter performance of Batch 1997-Solane iStyle to hack out a one-sided 70-48 win last Tuesday in the  Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.

Gregorio Aguilar led the 22-point beatdown by firing 28 points. Erwin Yu and Robert Lim also scored in double figures with 14 and 10 as Batch 1988 notched its seventh win in 11 games.

Bryan Labus tallied 10 points, the lone player to score in twin digits for Batch 1997, which dropped to 4-6 (win-loss).

Batch 1988 was just ahead by two points at the half, 29-27, but held down Batch 1997 to just five points in the third while scoring 18 of its own that broke the game wide open.

In the other game, Batch 1995-La Nueva Pharmacy forced a three-way tie at second spot by downing Batch 2003-Dimsum Frito, 82-76.
