Family Appliance, last year’s runner-up, ousted Velez PT Alumni’s, 102-95, last Friday night.
Paul Gabatan spearheaded the win for Family Appliance with 17 points, putting Neil Buot’s 31-point performance for Velez to waste.
Cebu New Gold, on the other hand, escaped the University of Southern Philippines Alumni, 75-73, Sunday night at the same venue.
Rj Acha scored 24 points capped by five three pointers while former Southwestern University Cobras cager Francis Ortega chipped in 17 points.
