Law enforcers seized P1.7 million worth of illegal drugs in separate police operations last Saturday.
Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) officers confiscated P1 million worth of illegal drugs from a drug den allegedly run by a syndicate in barangay Langtad, The City of Naga, last Saturday afternoon.
One suspect was killed. Joseph Reville, the target of the raid, escaped. Authorities have been hunting Reville for five years now.
Senior Insp. Armando Labora said Reville fled in a Montero sports utility vehicle during the commotion that followed the buy-bust operation. Police had bought P15,000 worth of shabu from Reville.
Labora said there were security cameras installed along the road, from the national highway leading to Reville’s house.
Enforcers had to approach the house from the back portion of the community.
Two of Reville’s alleged cohorts, Joselito Cabigon and Junjun Paunil, engaged in a shootout with the police. Paunil died.
Arrested were Peter Miranda and Carlito Sanchez.
Confiscated were a .45 pistol, a KG 9mm machine pistol and 12 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P141,600.
Labora said that after the buy-bust, they searched the bungalow using a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 18 of Cebu City Judge Gilbert Moises.
Inside, they allegedly found on a certain Caromensio Genodiala some packs of suspected shabu weighing around 106 grams, worth roughly P1 million.
Also last Saturday in Borbon, seven were arrested in barangay Lugo allegedly with P200,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Arrested was Bobby Monisit dela Cerna, the subject of a warrant.
Others caught allegedly sniffing shabu were Julius Monisit dela Cerna,31; Amado Monisit dela Cerna,34; Alfredo Solis Suico, 35; Brett Anthony dela Cerna Boro, 25; Joseph Bacayo, 21; and Bernard James Mondejar, 25.
In Consolacion, P23,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from Delio Capangpangan, 49.
Capangpangan is in the list of top 10 drug personalities in the town.
RTC Branch 56 Judge Teresita Galanida also issued a warrant against Macker Pilapil, 56, who was arrested in barangay Tayud, Liloan.
A couple was arrested in barangay Aliwanay, Balamban town, while five men were caught in Talisay City, also for drugs.
