Seven out of 132 personnel of Cebu City Hall’s Department of Public Services (DPS) initially tested positive for illegal drug use.

The results came hours after the Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (COSAP) conducted a random drug test this morning.

Cosap chief Dr. Alice Utlang said the seven DPS personnel are casual and Job Order (JO) personnel. The seven will still undergo confirmatory tests.

From January to June 9 this year, 17 employees of 10 different offices and the disaster risk management team tested positive.  Of the 17, one is a regular employee while the rest are casual and JOs.

Utlang said regular employees will have to undergo the city’s rehab program. For casual and regular employees, Cosap will recommend their removal from office to the Human Resource and Development Office.
