A new lifestyle destination has opened in Banilad, offering first-in-Cebu stores, restaurants and services.
Streetscape is a strip mall in Paseo Saturnina along Ma. Luisa Road.
“It’s a lifestyle destination because it has different restaurants and new concepts,” said Carla Go, director of operations of Streetscape.
The new mall features restaurants like Washoku-J and La Nostra Pizzeria Napoletana.
Washoku-J offers authentic Japanese cuisine and is owned and managed by a Japanese chef. La Nostra is one of the 500 restaurants in the world that offers certified Neopolitan pizza and the first of its kind in the Philippines.
Other dining options include Wok’d, a Thai restaurant; Mehl and Zucker, an artisanal European Bakery; Gorliz Bar and Grill, which offers Spanish tapas and a wine bar; Delistar, featuring Korean food; and Gibbs’ Hot Wings.
Streetscape also features two well-known brands in Cebu, Gelatissimo Café and Vanille Bistro. The two cafés are considerably bigger than their mall counterparts.
Other services available in the new mall are Fitness Nation, Nuat Thai Spa, Henry Ahn Photography studio, Beauty and Beyond skin clinic, EJ2 Study and Learning Center and Clique Hair and Nail Salon.
Go said the idea was to make a “one-stop shopping area,” where people can easily and conveniently go to for meals and other basic needs.
The 4,000-square-meter commercial strip is owned and managed by Carla and her mother Jessica Go. It accommodates 35 units, all of which are occupied by 20 tenants.
At present, 13 tenants have put up shop in the strip.
The rest of the tenants, including Japanese convenience store Family Mart, Peso store and Rose Pharmacy, are expected to follow by July or August.
Carla said Streetscape is the first commercial development project that her mother embarked, after being in the real estate and residential development industry for 20 years.
At the moment, the mother-daughter duo has no plans of expanding. Carla said they were focusing their efforts on Streetscape.
Their intention was to create a space where people can relax.
“We wanted it to be white and very modern,” she said.
“We wanted a place where people can hang out or get together and be happy,” she added.
