SOME OF Cebu’s volleyball players hit the beach sands today as they compete in the first ever PLDT Home Ultera-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup 2015 today at the Sands By the Bay in SM Mall of Asia.

Former Cesafi beach volley champion Danika Gendrauli, a standout from Southwestern University, and her partner Jane Diaz, representing Gilligan’s will be up against tough odds when they collide with Cha Cruz and Michelle Laborte of Cignal HD Spikers A.

In the afternoon, former Nestea national champion Jusabelle Brillo and University of Santo Tomas Tigress Jem Gutierrez, representing Meralco, will battle The Mountain Province tag-team of Cindy Benitez and Florence May Madulid of Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco).

Other games today will feature the reigning Queen of the Sand Fiola Ceballos and Patty Orendain of the Foton Tornadoes against Beneco followed by the tussle between the pair of Charo Soriano and Gretchen Ho of Petron XCS and Wensh Tiu and April Ross Hingpit of Cignal HD Spikers B.

In the men’s side, the favored team of King of the Sands winner Jade Becaldo of Cebu and Tagum City-native Hachaliah Gilbuena of SM By the Bay A will see action against Ian Conde and Karl Dela Calzada of IEM while reigning Nestea Beach Volley champion Edmar Bonono and Sandy Montero of Cignal A take on SM by the Bay B and Centerstage.

Former University of Southern Philippines Foundation ace Emmanuel Luces and Jay dela Cruz of Cignal B will also be duking it out against Perpetual Molino and Champion Infinity B in a jam-packed day full of beach volleyball action.
