SM Supermalls held a simultaneous launch of the Green Film Festival at SM Cinemas nationwide.

The SM group has partnered with the Department of Education, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Climate Change Commission, National Youth Commission, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, United States Agency for International Development, and GMA 7 to screen educational and environment-themed documentaries.

On July 7, SM Supermalls showed the documentary “Pagbangon,” a comprehensive documentary that tackles the recovery and rehabilitation efforts for the survivors of supertyphoon Yolanda.

The documentary is hosted by GMA News and Public Affairs pillar Jessica Soho, and with reports from Jiggy Manicad and Micaela Papa.

Over 600 students attended to watch the film in both SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacion cinemas. The municipality of Consolacion and the Cebu City government lauded SM’s efforts in raising awareness on the issue of climate change.
