Hermosa, Belande lead Boomerangs to blowout victory
Sam Jordan Hermosa and Niño Belande came away with splendid performances to help their team remain unscathed in the Evo League of the 11th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball last Sunday at the CSC-C Gym.
Hermosa put up 32 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, five assists and three blocked shots to power the Telstra-Teletech Boomerangs to a 92-69 crushing of the 24/7 Cagers, while Belande collected 21 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and three steals to lift the Supportsave Dragons over The Results Spartans, 64-48.
Telstra and Supportsave now tote 3-0 (win-loss) cards, while the Cagers and the Spartans dropped to 1-2 and 2-2, respectively.
Giving Hermosa the much-needed help were Jaygard Vios and Ivan Figuera, who scored 16 and 15 markers, respectively.
Ralph Belarmino paced 24/7 with 28 points, eight boards and three assists, while John Erron Jurado added 13 markers.
Dennis Morales and Mark Vergara also gave a good account of themselves by tallying 12 and 11 markers, respectively.
Jade Sala Seno paced the Spartans with 15 points, while Charles Ybañez chipped in 13 markers.
In the other Evo League game, the Teletech Titans finally barged into the win column by smashing the hapless Author Solutions Inc. Hardbacks, 61-50.
Jonas Concepcion scattered 28 points and Jervis Pino Sildura tallied 14 markers as the Titans snapped a three-game slide to improve to 1-3.
Donald Stephen de Leon scored 12 markers for the Hardbacks, who slumped to their second loss in as many starts.
Staying unbeaten in the Elite Classic were the Teleperformance All Stars, who pocketed their second straight win with a 55-47 domination of the Convergys Blue Devils.
No one scored in double figures for Teleperformance but all of their 13 players scored at least two points led by Angelo Galicia, who wound up with nine points.
Melvin Polestico scored nine points for the Blue Devils, who stayed winless after three outings.
