5 fall in drug bust

Police arrested five men in an anti-drug operation in barangay Talamban, Cebu City last Wednesday night.

The target of the raid was Ian Dexter Famador Tancinco, who was arrested after he allegedly sold an ampule of Nubain to a poseur-buyer, an agent of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7).

Also arrested were Joseph Lopez, 35; Jesus Famador Tancino, 43; Ritchie Opone Ong, 38; and Franz Ceniza, 20, who were caught possessing ampules of Nubain, said Supt. Fermin Armendarez III.

Armendarez said the Talamban Police Station let the CIDG-7 handle the task to conduct the operation since the drug suspects could easily recognize the policemen in the barangay and evade attempts to arrest them.

Police said Ian Dexter has been into selling Nubain for two years, an allegation that the man denied.

He said someone just left the ampules of Nubain. He, however, refused to identify the owner.
