Goecilyn Fajardo, a Grade 1 teacher in charge of the canteen, said that she bought the rice cakes from a vendor in Carbon market.
Fajardo said it was the first time that this happened in their school. Three of her pupils who ate the rice cake threw up. She immediately attended to them and stopped selling the rice cakes.
Romeo Lisondra, school principal, said they are now requiring parents to let their children bring their own snacks or “baon” to school. /Jay-Ileen Engalla, Palompon Institute of Technology Intern
