A drinking binge turned bloody when a man stabbed his elder stepbrother in their home in a hinterland barangay in Cebu City last Sunday evening.
Enrico Zaguire, 42 years old and 29-year-old half brother Horace Montallano were drinking in barangay Babag 2 when Montallano asked Zaguire to buy bread. Zaguire was heard telling Montallano to eat as much bread as he can.
Montallano’s father Norberto said he later saw the two men fighting each other and tried to intervene. Zaguire went outside the house and broke an empty bottle.
Montallano stabbed him on the chest. Their father brought his wounded son to Perpetual Succour Hospital using a barangay service vehicle.
Police recovered a 10-inch knife used by Montallano who surrendered to the Mabolo police precinct.
