By: PR August 29,2015 - 12:53 AM

Public encouraged to clean surroundings every Saturday of September

Residents of Cebu province can do one simple thing to support the realization of the Mega Cebu Vision 2050: Clean their surroundings.

In its  campaign called “Limpyo Cebu, Pwede Kaayo,” Mega Cebu advocates  are calling on the public to get out of their homes, offices or establishments and clean their surroundings every Saturday of September from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The campaign  is one of the initiatives for September as  Mega Cebu Month.

Simple acts, such as cleaning the environment, segregating trash, volunteering for a cause and observing traffic rules can contribute to making Mega Cebu happen.

The Department of Education has  issued a memorandum to all elementary and high schools in Cebu Province to participate in the campaign.

“But we aim to have everyone in Cebu Province join because Mega Cebu is about us and for all of us,” said Caroline Ballesteros, Mega Cebu communication and stakeholder relationship manager.

Mega Cebu envisions a wholesome, advanced, vibrant, equitable and sustainable (W.A.V.E.S.) Cebu by 2050.

It promotes long-term and collaborative planning and action towards a more sustainable city-region in Cebu.
