The unbeaten defending champions Southwestern University Lady Cobras stayed hot, pocketing their fourth straight win by trampling the hapless Cebu Doctors’ University White Stallions 25-8,  25-16, 25-15 yesterday in the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) women’s volleyball tournament at Aznar Coliseum.

The Lady Cobras displayed their championship pedigree early in the game, cruising to a 16-4 lead.

The Lady Cobras kept the gas pedal on the floor en route to the easy win that assured themselves of a top seeding in the semifinal round.

The Stallions succumbed to their third defeat in as many games.

The defending champions will see action again next when they clash with the winless University of Cebu Webmasters.

Also in the distaff side, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Lady Panthers (2-2) took good care of business by annihilating the struggling University of Cebu Webmasters (0-3) in straight sets 25-16, 25-20, 25-19.

In the girls division, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu (2-4) ended the elimination round on a high note by pulverizing the University of Cebu Webmasters (2-2), 25-17, 25-16.

In the men’s division, the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats (2-3) survived the University of Cebu Webmasters (0-5) with a 13-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-22 decision.
