Mandaue to extend one-way route sked

THE Mandaue City Council approved a resolution extending the one-way traffic rerouting scheme on S.B. Cabahug St., F.B. Cabahug St., Burgos St. and A. del Rosario St. for another 90 days.

“We can see that the new traffic scheme has helped us a lot especially during the school season. We need to further study whether the scheme is effective on a long-term basis,” said Glenn Antigua, acting chief of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM).

Last July 29, TEAM enforced a 60-day one-way traffic scheme on these areas.

Antigua said there was smooth traffic flow with congestion occurring only in peak hours in the morning and early evening. There were fewer road accidents recorded, he said.
