At least 23 residents in Barili town in southwest Cebu availed of free cataract surgery at the local district hospital last Oct. 23.
The Rotary Club of Mandaue North, in collaboration with Velez Hospital, Cataract Foundation and Aces Eye Clinic, spearheaded the yearly activity dubbed “Oplan Sagipmata.”
Ophthalmologists from the Aces Eye Clinic performed the surgery with the help of volunteers.
The medical mission was successful as the patients fully restored their vision.
The rotary club will conduct another Sagipmata mission March next year.
Donors and volunteers are welcome to apply. For more information, contact the club president at [email protected] or (0917) 6294441.
