Ex Jaguar helps Euro-Med arrest three-game slump
FORMER University of San Jose-Recoletos guard Jess Mar Villahermosa scored 11 of his 22 points in the fourth period to help Euro-Med end their three-game slump with an 80-74 win over Foton Toplander in the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League (PCBL) Founders Cup at the San Juan Arena.
Villahermosa, a former Cesafi three-point king, buried one big shot after another including a huge three-pointer that gave them a 64-62 lead with 4:21 to go. Later, he added two free throws to put Euro-Med ahead by seven, 81-74, with two minutes remaining.
Euro-Med leveled its win-loss card to 3-3 while Foton fell to the bottom of the table at 1-5.
In the other game, Supremo Lex Builders-OLFU won their second game in a row with a 96-85 decision over Kama Motors.
