Cebu Parklane Hotel, HACCP certified

The Cebu Parklane International Hotel (CPIH) earned their HACCP Certification at an awarding ceremony last September 29, Tuesday at the Eugenia Hall. The ceremony was attended by most of the company’s team members, since it was also a recognition ceremony to all who underwent the series of modules tackling Food Safety, Hygiene and Serve Safe Practices and successfully passed each module’s exam.

The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Certification Program was made possible through a grant received from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) of Canada, in partnership with DOT Cebu and with the support from the Board of Directors, the General Manager, Department Heads and the rest of the hotel staff. This program was also facilitated by the Intertek group.

The highlight of the event is the Awarding of the HACCP Certification to Parklane Hotel by Ms. Sandra Bucao, the General Manager of Intertek. The Certification was received by Ms. Cenelyn Manguilimotan, CPIH General Manager and Mr. Ian dale Tan, F&B Manager/HACCP Team Leader. The event was followed by the signing of a Certification of Agreement.

The achievement of the HACCP Certification was a product from the joint effort of the Management Team, the CPIH HACCP Core Team and the Team Members from the different Departments of the hotel.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Kim Niño Cantero, Department of Tourism (Officer-In-Charge), wherein he talked about the Hotel Industry and the relevance of Food Safety Practices. This significant event was formally put to a close by Mr. Basil Ting, CPIH President, as he expressed, in behalf of the whole Board of Directors, his gratitude to all who became a part of this veritable achievement.

With the HACCP Certification awarded to CPIH, the hotel ensures safety of their guests in terms of food quality and kitchen practices, which is in line with their goal to be the customer’s undisputed choice as a Cebuano Business Boutique Hotel.
