THE MSBC men’s volleyball squad logged its second straight win last Sunday to take the temporary lead in the ongoing 2015 Metro Sports Volleyfun Meet at the Metro Sports Center in Lahug.

MSBC notched its first victory last Nov. 8 with a close win over Spycoholique Telstra-Teletech, 25-15, 25-21 then followed that up with another tight win last Sunday with a, 25-22, 25-20 bashing of Banco De Oro (BDO) to grab the lead in the team standings with a 2-0 (win-loss) record.

Also in the men’s division, the ASPI Hardbacks kicked off their campaign with an emphatic, 25-17, 25-13 win over hapless PLDT while the Telstra-Teletech rebounded from its opening day loss to MSBC by outlasting winless VECO in three sets last Sunday, 25-11, 21-25, 25-8.

In the distaff side, BDO and MSBC remained the only unbeaten squads in their division after drubbing separate foes in their opening matches.

The MSBC volleybelles handed the ASPI Lady Hardbacks their second loss in as many games with a, 25-19, 25-19 victory while the BDO belles crushed Friends, 25-16, 25-21.

Earlier, in the tournment, the Lady Hardbacks also bowed down to Friends, 25-19, 25-22.

Both the BDO and MSBC lady spikers will clash this Sunday as they battle for the top spot in the standings while the ASPI Lady Hardbacks look to get that elusive first win against Shumegaa.

In the men’s division, the ASPI Hardbacks hope to extend their winning streak as they take on Telstra-Teletech while the PLDT men’s team hopes to rebound from its painful setback to the Hardbacks as it faces winless BDO.
