Owning a Harley-Davidson big bike is now easier for Cebuanos.

This after Harley-Davidson of Cebu officially opened its brand-new dealership on Friday  at the RDAK compound along A.S Fortuna Street in Mandaue City. This is the first dealership of the iconic American motorcycle company outside of Manila.

The spacious dealership  is a complete one-stop shop for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts. It has a general merchandise shop that offers wide array of authentic Harley-Davidson apparel, a showroom that houses the elegant big bikes and a customization/service shop that is spearheaded by expert mechanics Willie Placer and Jofons Cañalita. Genuine Harley-Davidson spare parts are also available at the dealership.

Leading yesterday’s opening was RDAK Global Motors CEO Regan King, who is the principal dealer, and general manager Salvador Reyes.

King said the presence of the new dealership gives Cebuano big bike fans an easier way to own a Harley.

“Before, it was very difficult to own a Harley because it had to be imported from the U.S. You had to go through a lot of processes to get a clearance with the customs. Now, it’s already at our doorstep,” King said.

The opening of the dealership also means that more Harley-Davidson is expected to roam Cebu’s streets in the future. In fact, since the announcement of its arrival in Cebu last month, the dealership has already sold 15 big bikes. King said they are projecting to sell six to seven more bikes before the year ends and is also expecting to sell the same number per month starting next year.

In order to make purchasing easier, King also met with banking institutions to discuss financing options for those who want to own a Harley-Davidson bike.

“We want to help them achieve their dreams. That’s why we are already reaching out to banking institutions in Cebu to give Cebuanos options,” King said.

According to King, the most sought after line of Harley-Davidson bikes in Cebu are the street and sportster lines.  He also noted that other Cebuanos liked the Dyna, Soft Tail, V-Rod and Touring, which are all available at the new Cebu dealership. Prices of the Harley bikes start  at around P400,000.

AFTER-SALES SERVICE

Reyes, meanwhile, assured future Harley-Davidson owners that after-sales service won’t be a problem with the presence of well-trained mechanics.

“We want to gain strength in our after sales, that’s why we made sure we hired the best mechanics. And of course, we also made sure that we have the necessary spare parts for the bikes,” Reyes said.

Customization—a favorite for Cebuano bike enthusiasts—is also possible through the new dealership.

“We all know that we really also want to customize our bikes. That’s why that service is also available in  our service shop,” added Reyes.

Existing Harley-Davidson owners are welcome to get their bikes fixed in the dealership.  King is, in fact, inviting current Harley-Davidson owners to join Cebu’s first Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG).

“There’s already a plan of putting up activities for the owners and the HOG chapter so that they can enjoy benefits like discounts,” King said.

The opening of the Harley Davidson of Cebu will be highlighted by a Rock And Rebel concert featuring American rock band Firehouse and Cebuano rock band Franco Suspitsados at the Aboitiz Sports Field today (Saturday).
