ORGANIZERS of a rally aimed at appealing to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to run for president said they expect thousands to attend the event at the UP Cebu grounds today in Gorordo Avenue.
Lawyer Noel Felungco, chairman of the Duterte for Real Change Movement in Cebu, said Duterte would show up and address the people.
Senators Aquilino Pimentel III and Alan Peter Cayetano were invited to attend the event set for 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Transport and youth groups are expected to attend the rally while bands and solo artists will perform for the audience, Felungco said.
Engr. Ricardo Mendoza, former City Sports Commission chief of Mandaue City, said he’s one of the volunteers.
Mendoza is running for councilor in Mandaue city as an independent bet.
