Woman hurt in Borbon robbery

A 51-year-old businesswoman was beaten up and robbed by a robber, who broke into her house in barangay Lugo, Borbon town in northeastern Cebu last Saturday night.

Police said Lalaine Piodos suffered bruises on her body after the robber choked her and punched her in the stomach when she resisted.

Piodos told police she was alone in her house when she saw the robber, who had entered through the ceiling in the toilet.

The robber, who wore a mask, choked her but she was able to bite the robber’s hand to break free from the chokehold, and she fought back. It was then that the robber punched her in the stomach causing her to lose consciousness.

Piodos said when she came to, she saw her house in disarray. She also said that she lost her necklace worth P100,000 and more than P200,000 cash that she kept in her house.
