LAST January 6 the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel launched its annual exhibit of Santo Niño images, and opened the ninth edition of Sugbusog, a culinary journey.

The term signifies culinary satisfaxtion, the Cebuano way. In this case it is Cebuano cuisine for lunch or dinner at the buffet to the hotel’s Cafe
Marco.

The food fest is on up to Sunday, Jan. 17, but here is always a clamor for it to be extended a day or two more.

Welcoming all on opening night was the hotel’s general manager Julie Najar who delineated the importance of the occasion. Elucidating further was Jessica Avila, the hotel’s consultant for Filipino cuisine. This time the focus was on seafood, the Cebuano way, which means very fresh.

Praise came from Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale who effusively congratulated the hotel and its management.

Msgr. Roberto Alesna blessed the Santo Niño exhibit. Has images graciously lent by Val and Ofelia Sandiego, Ernest “Ben” Chua, Helen Ynclino Bucag, and Mark Steven Go.
