By: Izobelle T. Pulgo February 02,2016 - 10:48 PM

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will be conducting mock elections which is a simultaneous nationwide activity on February 13.

The precincts covered are Mabolo Elementary School and Lusaran Elementary School in Cebu City as well as precincts in Santander Elementary School and Kabutungan Barangay Hall, both in Santander town, southern Cebu.

“This is just like a real election, only that the voters will be pre-selected. They will be invited to vote and to test the machine. After that, the result will be transmitted,” Atty. Lionel Castillo, provincial election supervisor, said.

The agency will also hold a public hearing for mall voting in Consolacion, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City, Talisay, and Minglanilla not later than February 12.

Castillano said that the public hearing will be conducted in order to assess how acceptable mall voting is to the people who will be affected.

Castillo clarified that only certain precincts will be transferred to malls while the rest will remain in schools.

Voters whose precincts are affected will be notified that their voting center is transferred.
