A former police asset was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding assailants along barangay Poblacion in Borbon town, northern Cebu at past 4 pm on Thursday.
PO1 Raffy Tejares of the Borbon police precinct said the 45-year-old victim identified as Nelson Salar sat on a bench in front of a store in the area when the assailants fired at him.
Salar succumbed to a gunshot wound on the face. Tejares said the victim’s relative claimed that Salar had been receiving death threats.
Those who witnessed the incident claimed that the assailants didn’t wear masks and looked to be 20 to 25 years old.
