February 19,2016 - 10:31 AM

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy from barangay Casili in Consolacion town, northern Cebu is in need of financial assistance for his chemotherapy treatment.

Francis Angelou Gungob was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a cancer of the blood which is highly curable if proper treatment is administered.

Francis is energetic. He plays soccer and drums in school. His parents brought him to the doctor when they noticed bruises on his body. The doctor later told them that Francis has leukemia.

For now, Francis has to stop going to school. He needs at least three years of chemotherapy sessions on a weekly to monthly basis.

His parents, however, won’t be able to sustain his entire treatment. Their savings have already been depleted from Francis’ previous medications.  His mother is a caregiver while his father is a company driver, both earning a minimum salary.

Francis is asking kindhearted individuals to help him by donating for his chemotherapy.

Those who wish to donate material and/or financial assistance may coordinate with the Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko Foundation at the Cebu City Health on Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City with contact numbers 2324706, 4129020, and (0917) 6257090 or deposit donations directly to Unionbank at account no. 00-112-000066-2.

Please indicate the name of the patient in the deposit slip.
