Mandaue raises revenue collection for February

Mandaue City more than doubled its revenue collection this month compared to the same period last month.

Mandaue City Treasurer Regal Oliva said they collected P504 million this month or 125 percent more than the P256 million they collected in February last year.

“Our target of the month of January is only P400 million. We surpass the target by extending our deadline for the renewal of permits. It would be unfair for tax payers not to be extended because our system is slow,” he said.

Oliva said their revenue collection and data system can only cater to 8,000 establishments.

The city has 12,000 to 14,000 establishments.

He said the city raised its rates on garbage and sanitary inspection fees.
