A TRAIL of blood that ended in one of the rooms of a motel along General Maxilom Avenue in Cebu City led employees to discovering the remains of a Fil-Japanese late Tuesday evening.
Hidezo Andong Hayashi was found with a gunshot wound on his lower chin. The bullet exited to his head.
SPO2 Wetzel Berry, homicide investigator, said the 36-year-old Hayashi was found lying on the floor with a .45 pistol on his left hand.
An empty plastic pack believed to have contained shabu and drug paraphernalia were found at the room’s lavatory.
“(But) we do not want to speculate. We have send the sachet to crime laboratory for examination first,” Berry said.
Punta Engaño councilor Josie Hayashi, the victim’s mother, said Hayashi left their home after a fight about three days ago and never returned.
Security guard Gonzalo Otabento told police that Hayashi checked into their motel at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
He arrived on board a gray Toyota Fortuner with plate number JYV-237.
Hayashi was alone, Otanbento said.
Berry said Hayashi was last seen alive at 7 pm Tuesday when he asked that a bottle of water be delivered to his room.
Cleaner Maricris Tubos Sabredo she was cleaning a room adjacent to Hayashi’s room when she saw a trail of blood coming out of the door at 11 pm Tuesday.
Motel employees called for emergency assistance but Hayashi was already dead.
