Ng elected as CCCI president

RETAILER Melanie Ng assumed as the new president of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) yesterday.

Ng, executive vice president of Ng Khai Development Corp., leads an all-male board  composed of Antonio Chiu, vice president for finance and administration; Teodoro Locson, Jr., vice president for external affairs and relations; Virgilio Espeleta, vice president for business development; Nimrod Quiñones, vice president for membership development; Ronald Po, treasurer; and Tomas Riveral, board secretary.

Newly appointed members of the board are Jimmy Chua as assistant treasurer and Francis Dy as assistant board secretary.

Eleven new trustees representing the industry, trade, services, sectoral and ICT (information communication and technology) sectors of the chamber were also elected.

The executive committee will conduct its first strategic planning session for the year on March 11.

“We will go into strategic planning so that we can be prepared and more enabled to improve the services that we provide,” Ng told reporters.
