Headlined by an intriguing main event, the inaugural edition of the ‘Who’s Next?’ Pro Boxing Series blasts off today at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu Atrium.

The six-fight card, which is free of charge, will start at 4 p.m.

Main event protagonists Jhack Tepora of the Omega Boxing Gym and Boholano Jason Tinampay both made the 122-pound contracted weight in yesterday’s weigh-in at the above-mentioned venue.

Interestingly, the two fighters both tipped the scales at 121.4 pounds.

“This is it. I am excited for this fight and I will do my best to win since this is part of my dream to finally earn a shot at world title,” said Tepora, who is unbeaten in 16 fights with 11 knockout victories.

At stake in the fight, presented by Omega Pro Sports International and backed by Hyundai Tucson, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, Harley-Davidson Cebu, Omega Pro Pain Killer and Y1O1, is the WBO Youth Asia-Pacific title.

Known as a durable fighter, Tinampay looks to become Tepora’s first tormentor. He is also gunning for a resounding success in his first-ever main event fight.

“This is my first time to be featured in a main event. But I don’t feel any pressure. I’ve been to a lot of tough fights and I promise to put up a good fight,” said Tinampay, who sports a 7W-2L-0D, 6KOs card.

“We are inviting the public to come and watch. The card will have quality fights. We thank everyone for their support behind this endeavor. I am thanking Pio Castillo and Pio Paulo Castillo for their support,” said Chad Canares, Vice President of President of Omega Pro Sports International.

Pio is the President and Chairman of the International Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IPI), while his son Pio Paulo is the President of Omega Pro Sports International.

Spicing up the fight card are the main undercards pitting PBF flyweight champion Vergilio Silvano (20-6-1, 12KOs) against Fernando ‘Batang Bato’ Ocon (13-10-1, 5KOs) and super featherweight prospect Jerry Castroverde (7-2, 4KOs) versus Ryan Quimbo.

Other fights will have Mark Vicelles versus Ronald Cajes; Ar-ar Borbon versus Russel Rosales; Allan Villanueva versus Macmac Baribar; and Filjun Taneo versus Anthony Galigao.
