Senior Supt. Raul Bargamento assumed as new head of the Aviation Security Unit of the Mactan Cebu International Airport (AVSEU) on Wednesday.

He replaced Senior Supt. Joselito Salido who is now Chief of Staff of the Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP).

Chief Supt. Pablo Francisco Balagtas, AVSEGROUP director, led the turn-over ceremony held on Wednesday morning in a function room in Waterfront Mactan Hotel and Casino in Lapu-Lapu City.

During the ceremony, Salido also received a “Medalya ng Kasanayan” from Balagtas for a “job well done” and for achieving zero aviation related incidents during his term.

Salido headed the AVSEU from 2009 to 2011 and from July 2015 to March 2016.

In his message, Balagtas asked Bargamento to be competent in the performance of his duties and to maintain excellence in the aviation security.

“We expect a lot from you,” Balagtas told Bargamento.

Before his Cebu assignment, Bargamento headed the AVSEU in Clark Air Base (2015) and Zamboang City (2014).

While assigned at MCIA, Bargamento plans to increase police visibility at airport.

He also plans to establish close working relations with MCIAA General Manager Nigel Paul Villarete and the Office of the Transportation Security (OTS) among others to ensure the implementation of aviation security measures.

Also present during the turn-over ceremonies were Chief Supt. Sheldon Jacaban of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO7) and Senior Supt. Arnel Amor Libed, acting head of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
