AFTER SIX months of intense battle, only the best in the region are left to finish the war as they go head-to-head in the first annual Peugeot Philippine Tennis Open (PPTO) National Finals at the Valle Verde Tennis Club in Pasig City today.

Before the main event unfolds, a qualifying round to determine the last four spots for the men and women’s will be played. The victors of the qualifying round will complete the 32-men and women competition which will kickoff tomorrow.

Among the list of competitors include Cebu bets Johnny Arcilla, Hanna Espinosa, Amiel Aya-ay and Janji Soquino. Also in the competition are former Philippine No.1 Patrick John Tierro and army man Vicente Alberto Anasta.

The Butuan-native Arcilla, who is born to a Cebuano father, will begin his hunt for gold against De La Salle University (DLSU) tennis phenom Kyle Benjamin Parpan tomorrow while Cebuanos Amiel Aya-ay and Janji Soquino will lock horns with Christian Tesorio and Ino Canlas, respectively.
