Classes at the Jagobiao National High School was suspended anew on Wednesday morning after more students displayed “unusual behavior” which led suspicions that the students may have been possessed by “spirits.”

Dr. Estela Susvilla, Mandaue City Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, said some students started to become restless during a Mass celebrated on the school grounds, a day after close to 10 female students started crying as they complained that they could not breathe Tuesday.

Susvilla said the number of , who displayed unusual behavior, went up to about 20.

Wanting to put the matter under control, school and barangay officials agreed during a meeting on Wednesday morning to suspended classes until Friday.

The recommendation was later approved by DepEd provincial director Arden Monisit who also referred the matter to Central Visayas education director Juliet Jeruta.

Susvilla said they also sent a medical team to check on the students while they looked for priest who could investigate claims of spirit possession
