CEBU’S rising prospect Kevin Jake “KJ” Cataraja will be the newest exciting addition to what is already a stacked fight card of ALA Promotions International on May 28 in Bacolod City.

Cataraja, 20, ALA Boxing Gym’s latest gem, will try to add to his unbeaten record of three wins with two knockouts in front of the Ilonggo fans in the homecoming fight of two-division world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes, the longest reigning Filipino boxing world champion.

ALA Promotions International CEO Michael P. Aldeguer confirmed that Cataraja, who recently won over Mexican Tony Rodriguez in the Pinoy Pride 35: Stars of the Future last February 27 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, will be included in the fight card that will also feature  former world title challenger

“King” Arthur Villanueva and Milan “El Metodico” Melindo.

“He just started his training and yes it’s confirmed that he will fight in the undercard but we can’t assure if he will be facing another foreign opponent or we will provide him a tough local foe. There are possibilities on both sides so let’s just see what’s going to be developed in the next few weeks,” Aldeguer told CDN.

Cataraja, a former amateur standout, defeated Rodriguez in just his first eight-round bout with a unanimous decision.

According to Aldeguer they are planning to hold the fight card either at the open field of the Panaad Sports Complex or at the Saint La Salle Coliseum. Nietes will defend his WBO world light flyweight title against Raul Garcia Hirales of Mexico.

Nietes, Villanueva and Cataraja already started their training at the ALA Boxing Gym in Talamban, this City.

Also included in the fight card is the IBF world light flyweight title eliminator between Melindo against his tormentor Javier Mendoza.
