Talisay native tops men’s triathlon in Danao City

Talisay City native Andrew Kim Remolino outlasted the heavily favored Yuan Chiongbian to clinch the title in the men’s elite division of the National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) Cebu Leg earlier in Danao City, North Cebu.

The 16-year old Remolino, a former swimmer, finished the competition with a time of one hour 21 minutes and 58 seconds while his newfound rival Chiongbian settled for second with a time of 1:22.56.

John Caleb Barlin rounded off the top three with the time of 1:25.09.

In the women’s division Ryder Omega Pro Tri Team’s Cianyl Jamae Gonzales topped other competitors with a time of 1:38.37 beating Aimee Dequina who placed second with 1:43.22.

Jacqui Rose Lamparero ranked third by clocking in 1:48.10. About 150 triathletes saw action in the event organized by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP).
