A MULTICAB fell into a cliff and overturned twice. Luckily, the 12 passengers, including a five-month-old baby, survived.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. last Monday in Barangay Kantabogon, Aloguinsan town, Cebu.

The victims came from Toledo City and were heading to a beach resort when the accident occurred, said PO1 Ronilo Lawas of the Aluguinsan Police Station.

The multicab (GWX-566) was driven by Ernesto Beltran, 51.

Beltran told police that he was negotiating an uphill road when the vehicle’s engine conked out.

The vehicle moved backward and fell into a cliff, which was about five feet deep.

The driver and his passengers were brought to the Toledo District Hospital and were declared out of danger.

The driver was later detained at the Aloguinsan Police Station while police are waiting for the passengers’ decision whether or not to file charges against him, said PO1 Lawas.
