Habal driver dies, 6 hurt in Carcar road accident
A HABAL-HABAL (motorcycle-for-hire) driver was killed while six persons were injured after two motorcycles collided along a national road in Barangay Valencia Carcar City, southern Cebu last Tuesday night.
Police identified the fatality as Severino Ledisma, a resident of Barangay Rosario, Aloguinsan town, Cebu.
Injured were Ledisma’s passengers Evelina Tangal, 54; her husband Pedro, 61; and the couple’s grandchildren aged five and three. They were treated at the Carcar District Hospital.
The driver of the other motorcycle, Bernie Caballero, an 18-year-old resident of Valencia, was critically wounded. He was brought to a hospital in Cebu City.
PO1 Reggie Amad said some witness claimed that Caballero was driving at high speed when the collision occurred.
