City official questions unpaid phone bill

MANDAUE City Administrator James Abadia questioned why the Mandaue City Fire Station mentioned about the unpaid telephone bill for their hotline number only now.

“I’m wondering out loud, kami ang sala (we are at fault) that their connection was cut? Certain complaints never reached us. They didn’t complain. It seems that everything was okay. They had every opportunity to mention it. Why only now?” he said.

He said the city government met with the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council group including the Mandaue Fire Station right after the big fire that displaced settlers in Barangays Guizo and Mantuyong last March 12.

Mandaue City Fire Station chief of operations SFO4 Roy Garcia said they are processing their telephone bill now so they can use their old hotline number again.

He said Mandaue City residents can contact them at telephone number 4172552 for any emergency while they are still processing their old hotline.
