BATCH 1995/New Millennium Hardware wrested the solo leadership by pulling off a 73-60 win over Batch 2009 last Tuesday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.

Dean Dy Teves made his presence felt on both ends of the floor after he collected 22 points and 11 rebounds. Donald Anthony was also in a good offensive rhythm with 21 markers, while Edison Ho pitched 10 as Batch ’85 overtook back-to-back defending champion Batch 1999/Southchoice Inc. with its eighth win in nine games.

Batch ’99 sports a 7-1 (win-loss) records.

Harold James Tan also finished with 22 markers and 11 boards, while Joseph Baluyos had his own double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds but their efforts went to naught after Batch 2009 finished its elimination round campaign with its seventh defeat against three wins.

In the other game, CEC-C/ATS Aljhune Tinsmith/NST Rubbers kept its slim playoffs alive with an 84-52 trampling of Batch 1988/Dewfoam.

Joseph Aljhune Areja led CEC-C’s third win in nine games by scoring 17 points. Mar Genesis Quisagan added 16 points, Rodney Co contributed 15 and John Palanca Avalon had 12.
