A 45-year-old man was found dead hanging from a tree near a creek in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City, shortly before noon yesterday.
A passerby saw the body of Reynante Lambinao hanging from a tree branch by a nylon rope tied around his neck at 11:30 a.m., said PO3 Rufino Paelmao, homicide investigator.
Rowena Pagobo, the live-in partner of Lambinao, told Paelmao, that she and Lambinao had argued earlier over money that Lambinao allegedly took from her.
After their argument, Pagobo, a fruit vendor, said she proceeded to Redemptorist Church where she sells her fruits and left Lambinao in their house in Lower La Guardia, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
She was later informed that her partner hanged himself in Barangay Kamputhaw.
Paelmao said there were no signs of foul play in the death of Lambinao and this was apparently a case of suicide.
