A QUICK-thinking taxi driver jumped out of his cab and locked three robbers inside at past midnight last Sunday in Barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City.

Felipe Maralit discreetly locked the doors of his taxi while Angelo Pinote, 20, Edcel Blanquero, 18, and Keneth Impas, 18, all of Borbon, Cebu, were robbing him.

While Impas was taking his P700 earnings for the day, Maralit jumped off the cab and shouted for help from bystanders near the Marina Mall.

The locked doors delayed the suspects’ escape. They were caught and mauled by bystanders and later turned over to responding policemen.

SPO2 Ruperto Pepito of the Pusok Police Station said they recovered a .38 caliber revolver with two bullets in its chamber and six sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects.
