A man was arrested for posing as a police officer in Liloan town, Cebu last Monday.
Mario Delos Santos, a 41-year-old resident of Guian, Eastern Samar posed as an agent of the Criminal Investigation and Detective Group (CIDG) and allegedly extorted money from 63-year-old widow Adelina Paran, a resident of barangay Poblacion, Liloan town.
Liloan police said Delos Santos introduced himself as Maj. Delos Santos, a CIDG agent. But he failed to present to police any documents to prove his claim. A ballcap worth P100 was recovered from his possession.
