Fire investigators now placed at seven the number of people who perished in an early morning fire in Barangay Pahina Central in Cebu City.

Four of the fatalities were children, three were siblings aged two, three and a 3 weeks-old baby.

The other was the grandchild of the couple Rose and Maximo Villafuerte who also perished in the fire together with the 22-year old mother of the three children according to fire investigator SF02 Noel Opelentisima.

The 4:45 a.m. fire that razed 70 houses was said to have originated from the home of the Villafuertes.
