More than 20 people were saved from spending the night at sea on their stalled motorbanca off the waters Caubian Island in Lapu-Lapu City late Saturday  afternoon.

Cebu Coast Guard Commander Agapito Bibat said a passing motorbanca helped tow the stalled motorbanca with 22 passengers to Liloan town at 6:40 p.m.

Bibat said the passengers who are still unidentified may have come from an island hopping activity when their vessel started to malfunction about 5:30 p.m.

He also said that he had sent a Coast Guard vessel to Liloan town verify the incident and assist the passengers of the stalled banca.
