REELECTIONIST Ronda Mayor Mariano Yap Blanco III claimed his vehicle and his supporter’s home were strafed by unidentified men in Barangay Butong, Ronda town at 11:45 p.m. last Friday.

No one was hurt in the shooting incidents. Blanco called up Insp. Edgardo Labe, Ronda police chief, claiming that armed men on board two vehicles shot at his Isuzu Trooper while he was driving downhill.

Blanco said the armed men were in a brown Toyota Hilux (345) and a silver Nissan Patrol (880).

The mayor said he and his supporters who were in his vehicle were unhurt. There were no witnesses.

PO2 Virgilio Villamor of the Ronda police said the mayor didn’t turn over his vehicle to them for custody and examination.

Blanco, a reelectionist, is running against his nephew Jonald Ungab.

The house of Blanco’s supporter Gerry Vergara was allegedly strafed by the same men.

In Tabogon town, Somosa Barangay Captain Andrew Nolasco and his companion sustained bruises after shots were fired in front of his house yesterday morning.

Eliseo Labaria, Commission on Elections (Comelec) provincial supervisor, said no one was hurt in the incident.
