ARCHER Sebastian Alex Blanco had to fight tooth-and-nail with fellow Cebuano Rogelio Miguel Tremedal before scoring a close, 642-638 victory to bag the gold in the boys division of the recent Seoul Festa Nationwide Qualifiers 2016 held at Cebu Archery Club in Sudlon, Lahug.

Blanco and Tremedal who are both mentored by Coach Rowel Merto both accumulated 316 points after the first round but the former proved steadier in the second by grabbing a 4-point win over the latter, 326-322.

Rounding up the top five in the boys division were Allen Raquipo of La Union (632 pts), Justine Ronato of GenSan (620 pts) and Zamboanga’s Josiah Veviro (609pts).

National Capital Region’s Sam Lota Manaloto topped the girls division with 627 points while Dumaguete’s Crisha Mae Merto (618) and Charmaine Angela Villamor (606) settled for the second and third spots, respectively.
