THE summer badminton scene is expected to sizzle once again as the Metrosports Badminton Center holds its Summer Badminton Tournament on May 21 at the Metrosports Center in Lahug, Cebu City.
The tournament is backed by Li-Ning, Bucket Shrimps, Crown Regency, Park n’ Go, and Sun Cellular.
Three categories will be contested in the day-long event namely the Age Group Category, Seniors, and Executives.
The Age Group will have the 11, 13, and 15-years old under divisions for both Boys Doubles and Girls Doubles. The winners here will take home P1,500 and a trophy while the second placers will bag P1,000.
Meanwhile in the Seniors Category, a P3,000 grand will be awarded to the champion in the Open Level while winners in Levels D and E will get P2,500 and P2,000, respectively. Champions in Levels F and G will take home P2,000. In the Executives category, Level D and F winners will bank P2,500 and P2,000, respectively.
Runners-up in all levels will pocket P1,000.
The Seniors category will feature Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles while the Executives category will only have a Men’s Doubles.
Deadline for registration is on May 15. Registration fee for the Seniors and Executives Category is P600 while second entry is P400.
In the Age Group Category, registration is pegged at P500 and P400 for second entry.
Levelling is every Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
