A MAN who failed to pay a P15,000 debt died at the hands of armed men in Barangay Luz, Cebu City Sunday dawn.

Kevin James Erin was shot while he was with friends at a convenience store along Cabantan Street in Barangay Luz.

SPO2 Wetzel Berry of the Cebu City Police Office said Erin called his mother in Medellin town a few days ago to ask for money to pay off his debt.

Berry said armed men on board a red vehicle fired shots at Erin. Police recovered six empty shells and two deformed slugs from a .45 pistol in the crime scene.

Berry said there were able to secure a copy of the footage of barangay Luz closed circuit television (CCTV).

“The headlight (of the red car) was too bright that we could not figure out the plate number of the vehicle,” Berry said. Erin’s body will undergo autopsy at the St. Francis Funeral Homes, he said.
