THE University of the Visayas Baby Lancers will try to defend home turf when they battle Visayas’ finest in the regional finals of the CloudFone Batang PBA 2016 today at the Magis Eagles Arena inside the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.
UV, which topped the Cebu leg with one dominant performance after another, is expected to get tough opposition from Bacolod champion STI-West Negros College and Iloilo’s Sta. Clarita International School.
The teams will play a single round-robin with the top-ranked team advancing to the national finals which will be held next weekend in Manila.
UV is looking for a fourth straight trip to the national finals after representing the Visayas in 2012, 2013 and 2014, This is one of four different regional finals which will be played over the weekend. Other regional games are being held in Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Mindanao.
The top two teams from Metro Manila and the top team from all the other regions will then qualify for the national finals.
